Zj tow hook install

About how much time is this job expected to take, and what troubles might I expect stuck bolts, poor clearance, etc. Thanks in advance for the response! Cart 0. Click HERE to find out more. Got the Bug! Nothing can save me now Re: tow hooks on 99 ZJ if its a 99 its not a zj, its a wj. I would guess you could have to drill holes on the frame rails if there are none available.

Ha ha you're right, mixed up my Jeep with his. The one I'm asking about is a 98, sorry. Re: tow hooks on 99 ZJ There should be a flat reinforced section both on left and right on radiator support like so the holes should be pre drilled from the factory you would be surprized how strong that section of radiator support is its also were the bumper ties in.

Re: tow hooks on 99 ZJ 54cj3b, Thanks for the info, however it is not the same as Dustin's I'll take another picture tonight looking up from the bottom Kevins ZJ tow point is probably the better choice for ZJ owners who plan to wheel hard offroad. Shackles allow for securing the vehicle better and can be disconnected even with tension on the snatch rope if it's required. It will be exceptionally hard to have someone winch the front end of your ZJ down to prevent a rollover if all you have is hooks.

Note: Prices listed above are for reference purposes only and may vary by dealer. Parts are not available from this web site. For installation of the front hooks, the front fascia must be removed.

See fascia removal directions Here. Once the fascia is off, the mounting plate is inserted into the mounting area as shown in the above left photo. The hooks are then attached to the plate from underneath. Using a 15mm socket, install two bolts into the plate and the third into the U-nut. The U-nut is installed into a rectangular opening that is already cut in the frame.
